Types of Judicial Examinations

Judicial Services Examinations are conducted at two levels, they are :-

First, Higher Judiciary - for Additional District Judge or Additional Sessions Judge.

Second, Lower Judiciary - for Civil Judge or Judicial Magistrate Second Class or Metropolitan Magistrate.

These exams are conducted state wise and more or less syllabus is similar except language and some local and special laws. Though, it is important to note that it is just the syllabus which is same but not the pattern of examination. For instance, Delhi Judicial Services, Haryana Judicial Services & Punjab Judicial Services have a trend of asking Problem Based Questions, whereas, other states focuses more on theoretical questions. However, it is observed that now a days trend is changing and every State is moving towards Problem Based Questions in Preliminary Test and Mains Examination. Students consider that Problem Based Questions are more difficult then pure Theoretical questions but that is wrong. Infact, if concepts of students are strong and he is updated with the latest judgments of Supreme Court and High Courts then it is comparatively more easier to solve Problem Based Questions. Students must know the linking between various provisions of laws. It is at this place that the Chinar Law Institute takes edge and prepare its students for every possible question including Problem Based or Theoretical.
